Fannie Korn, thirty-nine years old, is indicted for murder in the first degree.
On May 5,1893 Korn gave rat poison to her two children, Florence, five, and Edwin, eleven. Korn then shot her children and attempted suicide.
One child, Florence, later died; her son, Edwin, survived. The jury declares the defendant not guilty by reason of insanity.
The judge commits her to Matteawan Asylum for the Insane.
